Overview
Winter Wander in Backus Woods
Start the new year with a gentle hike through the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s Backus Woods, just off Hwy 24. January days are slowly stretching, giving us a little more sunlight to enjoy the quiet beauty of the forest.
Expect crisp air, soft winter light filtering through the trees, and the peaceful hush of nature in its resting season. Trails may be icy in spots, so bring sturdy boots with good traction (ice cleats recommended) along with warm layers to stay comfortable.
Whether you’re a seasoned wanderer or joining us for the first time, come share the trail with a welcoming community that celebrates nature’s rhythms—even in the heart of winter.
