Kick off your Halloween weekend with a fabulous cocktail party and art auction in support of Out in Schools and the Vancouver Queer Film Festival!

The 15th Annual Fall Gala is your opportunity to show off your best look, party with the who’s who of Vancouver’s LGBT2Q+ communities, and bid on 20 stunning pieces created by local and Canadian artists.

Be Fabulous for a Cause

This year’s Fall Gala is hosted by Empress XLV Sienna Blaze and the effervescent Carl Meadows. The evening features both live and silent art auctions curated by Barry Dumka at BCreative Consulting, along with performances by Sienna Blaze, this year’s Mr/Ms Cobalt winner Karmella Barr, runner up Maiden China, and 2015 Mr/Ms Cobalt Rose Butch! Proceeds from the evening will support Out in Schools facilitators as they travel across BC combating homophobia, transphobia, and bullying in schools. Don’t drag your heels – buy your tickets today!

What should I wear?

Dress fun and fabulous! It's Halloween weekend so don't be afraid to dress up! Come prepared to shine and snatch the Best Dressed prize.

Past years attendees have been dressed in fur, heels, suits, gowns and all manner of attire in between.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes. All attendees must be 19+.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The BMO Theatre Centre is located at 162 West 1st St and is a short walk from the Olympic Village Canada Line Station. Limited street parking is available and paid parking is available in Olympic Village.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. You can bring a physical or digital version of your ticket. If someone else booked your ticket, please bring that person's name and email address, just in case. 

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes! If there is a possibility that your name and ticket registration won't match, please afford us a little patience at the check in table. If someone else booked a ticket on your behalf, please be sure to have their name and email ready in case our volunteers need it.

At Out On Screen, donors, supporters, volunteers, and film-lovers like you believe in a world where queer, trans, and Two-Spirit identities are equitably valued and represented in society and in media. For 29 years, we have curated the latest in queer film and knowledge, and have convened safe spaces for LGBT2Q+ communities, because when we all see ourselves represented, we are inspired and empowered to enact social change at home, and around the world.

Out On Screen pursues its mission to illuminate, celebrate, and advance queer lives through two core programs:

Out in Schools
The Out in Schools program fills a gap in LGBT2Q+ education and meets a critical need in schools and communities throughout BC. We bring queer films to schools across the province. Since 2004, supporters have brought powerful film, positive role models, and engaging discussions on homophobia, transphobia, and bullying to more than 90,000 youth and educators, opening hearts and changing minds in communites throughout BC.

Vancouver Queer Film Festival
The Vancouver Queer Film Festival is a gathering place for queer, trans, and Two-Spirit communities in Vancouver, providing a platform for voices from the margins. We rival heavyweights in the international landscape of queer cinema, and share stories that accurately and authenticaly represent the rich and complex lives of LGBT2Q+ people from BC, Canada, and around the world.
