Event description
A panel discussion with community experts about supporting queer and trans survivors of trauma.

About this event

Panelists:

Annu Saini, Counselor/Advocate at SASC

Abi Willms, Youth Sexual Health Worker at ACCKWA

Alicia Rubel, Registered Social Worker at OK2BME

Kristy Skelton, SPECTRUM

Moderator: Sarah Wiley, Violence Prevention Educator at SASC

Due to systems of homophobia and transphobia, we know that queer and trans people are more likely to experience trauma, so how can care providers best support them? This panel of community experts will unpack the barriers to accessing support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ members of our community, and provide resources and tips on how to reduce these barriers.

This is an online event. Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email with the zoom meeting information. If you have any questions, or accessibility needs that we can accommodate, please email Sarah Wiley at vpeducator@sascwr.org.

We support survivors of sexual violence. We listen, facilitate healing, and celebrate resiliency. Using an intersectional feminist approach, we work to transform systems which promote gender-based violence
