Date and Time: Thursday July 13, 2017, 5:30-7:30 pm
Location: UBC Botanical Garden, 6804 SW Marine Drive. Meet outside the Shop in the Garden.
Cost: $17/Garden members & concession*, $20/public

Prices include GST; does not include eventbrite fees. Concession = Youth (13-17), UNA Residents, UBC Students, UBC Faculty, UBC Staff, Seniors (65+).

Description: Explore the beauty and diversity of Maple species at UBC Botanical Garden through a poetic and scientific lens. Join Douglas Justice, Associate Director, Horticulture & Collections, and Celeste Snowber, Artist in Residence, on a performative and informative walk into wonder.

Accessibility Notes: Please note that this is a walking performance and there is no seating. Please dress for the weather and wear good footwear for undulating terrain. We will proceed rain, snow or shine.

Artist in Residence: Celeste Snowber, PhD is a dancer, educator and poet/writer who is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. Author of Embodied prayer and co-author of Landscapes of aesthetic education, she has written extensively in the area of embodied ways of inquiry and continues to create site-specific performances in the natural world. Her most recent book of poetry is Wild tourist and she is working on several poetry collections, which explore connections between ecology and the arts. Celeste lives outside Vancouver, B.C and is a mother of three amazing adult sons. Her website can be found at www.celestesnowber.com and blog is www.bodypsalms.com.

Cancellation & Refund Policies: UBC Botanical Garden reserves the right to cancel any event should the event not reach 25% capacity 5 days before. In the event that an event is cancelled, UBC Botanical Garden will offer the option of transferring to another event, or obtaining a full refund. All cancellations must be made at least 5 working days before the start of the course by contacting garden.programs@ubc.ca. A $5 processing fee is charged for cancellations. There is no fee for transferring the registration to another person.
