Petitcodiac River Appreciation Day
Event Information
About this Event
A day celebrating our river and the changes it has seen. It is ten years since the opening of gates that controlled the flow of the tidal waters of the river. A renowned Mi’gmaq historian gives an overview of the Indigenous history, followed by a European overview by Resurgo’s James Upham and Petitcodiac’s Jerry Gogan. Then we are entertained by the changes in the past thirty years, from the troubles to the exciting changes we are seeing today, including better water, better fish habitat and the opportunities there are, and will be, for us to enjoy the river.
Bring Your Own Lunch (Recommended).
Complimentary coffee, tea and water all day. Other beverages available for purchase, but NO outside beverages can be brought into the building.
