On Saturday June 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Parent Resource Centre will hold our fourth annual Power of Play event at Strathcona Park in Sandy Hill.
Families from all over Ottawa are invited to enjoy many engaging activities including Monkey Rock Music, a StoryWalk (about a VERY HUNGRY GUY), Stuffie "Glow Up" Station, Parent Pop Up Zone, Music, Dance and Bubbles, Arts and Crafts, Super-Sized games, Giant Soccer Ball, Obstacle Course and tons of family fun! Our special day is meant to highlight the importance of play as a means to connect, explore and learn… involving the whole family.
Playtime, especially with family is our priority and is an essential building block of childhood. Play is a critical component of getting back to "the new normal". It allows children to practice what they are learning and for parents and children to spend quality time reinforcing their bond. PRC is thrilled to provide an opportunity to bring families together to connect, explore and learn.
This year, PRC is reaching out to all our families and those of our partners and colleagues to engage as many people as possible in this play opportunity – and share the benefits of spending time together.
Bring a picnic , your sunscreen, bug spray and a stuffie and spend a lovely day in the park - we look forward to playing and learning with you.
If there is a light rain on Saturday - our event will continue - however, please verify on our web page at www.parentresource.ca and check for email notifications. Otherwise, we are looking forward to a lovely, sunny day.
Please bring your water bottles, which you will be able to fill up on site.
