Quartet for the End of Time
Overview
The Chamber Music Society of Mississauga presents:
Quartet for the End of Time
Step into a world where time fractures, sound suspends, and melody takes flight. This powerful program features Olivier Messiaen’s iconic Quartet for the End of Time—a transcendent work composed in a WWII prison camp, filled with rapturous stillness, ecstatic rhythm, and spiritual intensity.
Paired with it is Bird in the Tangled Sky by Canadian composer Jocelyn Morlock, a luminous, soaring work inspired by avian song and fragile hope.
Performed by an exceptional ensemble:
Amy Hillis – violin
Anthony Thompson – clarinet
Bryan Holt – cello
Cheryl Duvall – piano
Together, they bring to life two works that explore eternity, vulnerability, and the beauty that rises from chaos.
A night of deeply moving chamber music you won’t forget.
