Please Note: This is an academic discussion with experts in relation to their work in the field of records and redress.

Brigid’s Festival Vancouver provides a forum for the respectful sharing the histories and experiences of the victims of clerical and institutional abuses in Ireland and Canada. The panel bring together:

  • Dr. Sarah-Anne Buckley, Historian and Research Leader, Tuam Oral History Project, Ireland
  • Dr. Lorraine Grimes, Historian, Tuam Oral History Project, Ireland
  • Mary Harney, Survivor, Ireland
  • David McAtackney, Research and Engagement Strategist, University of British Columbia - Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, Canada
  • Kirstin Kozar, Digital Collections Specialist, University of British Columbia - Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, Canada
  • Dr. Elizabeth Shaffer, Centre’s Executive Director, University of British Columbia - Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, Canada
