Overview
Set out on the Dena Cho Trail with Cai Krikorian and Nicole Bauberger in this intimate, playful performance of poetry, storytelling, flute, and cello. Wander with Cai through a personal journey of gender and self-discovery, and find along the way that their Medzmumma always has their back.
This leisurely evening takes place at the Yukon Artists At Work Gallery, with only 20 seats. A single intermission includes tea and time to chat.
Cai Krikorian likes to tell the story about how in 2022, carrying their cello, they followed an oblivious Nicole Bauberger around a campground at a Yukon Women in Music event until she finally noticed. That winter Cai brought their cello to animate a puppet show called “Lost in a Blizzard” at Yukon Artists At Work with Linda Leon and Nicole. Since then, the two have kept up a steady practice of music, poetry and storytelling. They love playing Cook Shack Sessions with Yukon Women in Music. This summer they performed a set for Kids' Wednesdays at Arts in the Park.
Nicole Bauberger is a storyteller, painter, sculptor, writer and arts educator. An artist of settler heritage who has made her home in the territories of the Kwanlin Dun First Nation and the Ta’an Kwachan council since 2003, Nicole attended Concordia University for Creative Writing and has educated herself mostly through collaborations and apprenticeships with other artists. Her work can be seen out in the community and at the Yukon Artists @ Work Gallery.
