Join members of the VPD recruiting team for a run! This is a great way to connect with recruiters while working on your fitness goals.

What to Expect:

This event will be a POPAT/COPAT conditioning challenge!

This will NOT be a practice run through for the offical POPAT/COPAT, however, will include physical exercises and activities designed by our VPD Physical Health & Performance Team (Yes, the very people who facilitate the VPD official POPAT/COPAT qualification) to help you prepare for the POPAT/COPAT.


Based on this event being inside our VPD Annex Gym, there will be a limited amount of particpants. - PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND AND/OR CANCEL AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE DATE.


  • Please bring 1 piece of government issued picture ID.
  • A signed waiver is mandatory for attendance. Please ensure your signed and witnessed waiver form is on file with us.

  • Sign-up deadline will be 2300 hours, on the Thursday prior to the event. Participants MUST register in adavance to attend.


Program Details:

This program will be held on a bi-weekly basis, every second Tuesday morning, 6:45am-8am, and may take place at various locations throughout the city. It will primaily be outdoors, rain or shine. Please arrive ready in proper workout attire, running footwear and a water bottle.


Our Recruiters will be there to answer any questions you may have.


This program will also allow you to connect with likeminded individuals with similar goals.

As space is limited, we request that if you are unable to attend that you cancel you reservation on Eventbrite.

1. GENERAL

In consideration for the Vancouver Police Board allowing you to participate in the Program, you are signing this Waiver, Release, & Indemnity (the “Waiver”). By signing this Waiver, you are, among other things, giving up the right to sue the Vancouver Police Board and the City of Vancouver and each of their elected officials, officers, employees, and representatives (collectively, the “Police Board”).



2. ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY



I, the undersigned, am aware of and freely accept and assume the risks, dangers, hazards, and potential consequences of participating in the Program. I understand that the nature of the Program is such that the Police Board cannot identify all of the risks, dangers, hazards, and potential consequences of the Program and cannot guarantee that I will not be injured or harmed. I understand and accept that it is my responsibility to consider and understand the risks, dangers, hazards, and potential consequences of the Program. I will consult with my physician or healthcare provider if I am unsure whether I am ready to start the Program. I agree that my fitness level is appropriate for the Program and any known physical conditions that I may have will not affect my participation in the Program. If I experience any abnormal symptoms, I will immediately cease the activity and follow up with my physician or healthcare provider.



3. WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNITY



(a) I WAIVE ALL LEGAL RIGHTS TO SUE AND ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I or my respective heirs, successors, executors, administrators, personal representatives, and assigns may have against the Police Board for any loss, injury, damage, or expense that I may suffer, incur, or experience from participating in the Program, and I RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE the Police Board from any and all liability for any and all losses, injuries, damages, or expenses I may suffer, incur, or experience from participating in the Program; and



(b) I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY the Police Board for and hold it harmless from any and all losses, injuries, damages, and expenses of any kind, including from any complaints, demands, claims, actions, suits, judgments, and orders brought by third parties, that the Police Board may suffer, incur, or experience as a result of my participation in the Program.



4. MISCELLANEOUS



(a) I have carefully read and I understand the contents of this document and I am signing it voluntarily with full knowledge of its significance, intending that it be legally binding on myself, my heirs, successors, executors, administrators, personal representatives, and assigns.



(b) In entering into this Waiver, I am not relying on any oral, written, or visual representations from the Police Board.



(c) I agree that this Waiver will be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Province of British Columbia.
