Event description

Description

Is it possible to build bridges on divisive issues in the post-truth era? Is Canada immune to the trends that are steadily eroding broad-based faith in science? Join UBC professor and science television host Jennifer Gardy and fellow Vancouver science nerds as they discuss their passion for outreach, connecting with audiences, and how a new generation of scientists can talk truth to (science) fiction. They’ll discuss approaches and projects that have worked, and what scientists can learn from marketing and branding. In troubling times, is there a safe space for a new generation of explorers and discoverers to engage the public with science?
