Join the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for a Focus Group conversation for Parents, Guardians & Caregivers of the OCSB!

You're invited to take part in a parent and caregiver Focus Group Conversation - an open conversation designed to gather your insights and lived experiences on key topics that matter to families. For this session, we’ll be breaking into two groups by panel: Elementary (K–Gr. 8) and High School/Post-21 (Gr. 9+), with each group focusing on issues most relevant to those stages. Elementary discussions will include topics such as friendship building, and navigating the transitions from Grade 6 to 7 and Grade 8 to 9. The High School/Post-21 group will focus on co-op placements, job searching, planning for post-secondary education, and bullying. This is a chance to share your perspectives, highlight areas of concern, and help shape future conversations and supports in our school communities.

Your insights and experiences are vital to us, and we are eager to hear from you as we work together to support all students. Please note, this event is exclusively for parents, guardians, and caregivers, and will not be led or attended by staff. It is a safe space for you to openly share your thoughts, experiences, and feedback.

The goal of this focus group is for SEAC to gather valuable insights that will inform our advice and recommendations to the school board, ensuring they reflect the unique needs of our community. To maintain privacy, we kindly ask that you refrain from mentioning specific staff members, schools, or children.
