Volunteer Alberta and the Canadian Red Cross are hosting a free, virtual Service Continuity Planning workshop on March 9, 2026 at 10:30am MST!
This workshop helps organizations develop a plan to keep critical services running during or after a disruption, such as a wildfire or flood. Participants will identify risks and develop resilience strategies to reduce the impact of disruptions on your organization and community.

- Includes: Guidebook, worksheets, and a Service Continuity Planning template provided in advance
What participants will gain
While the workshop does not result in a completed plan, participants will leave with:
- An understanding of the steps necessary to complete a plan
- Much of the thought process for each step already initiated
- A list of information to gather from colleagues
- Clarity on the aspects of the plan that require consultation
Who should attend
- Best suited for organizations whose services are still needed by a community during disasters
- Staff or volunteers who will lead or support service continuity planning and have strong knowledge of program logistics
- Multiple staff from one organization are welcome
