Perhaps you thought you knew about all of the joyous musical celebrations happening in our community this holiday season, but wait! There’s more - So Much More! On December 23rd, St. Andrew’s United Church will once again welcome Truro’s favourite Andrews (Andrew Morrisey and Andrew Boudreau) for a sparkling evening of story and song: ‘So Much More - A Deliciously Sumptuous Holiday Cabaret’.
Never content to simply rehash the old holiday standards, this incredible duo is bringing their special brand of festive magic with a message. In the midst of the holiday rush and our collective quest for more and better and bigger, we learn that it’s the moments of quiet simplicity and connection that matter most.
Fresh from their award-winning tour of ‘Resurrection - A Michael Callen Cabaret’ which won Best New Musical at the Montreal English Theatre Awards, this incredible duo is coming home for the holidays to share this special evening with old friends and new.
Andrew Morrisey is an actor, singer and highly sought-after teacher whose credits include a number of Off-Broadway musicals and plays and a starring role in the Canadian Tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch – which earned him significant critical acclaim and an award for Best Musical at the BroadwayWorld Awards in Toronto. Andrew is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Music Theatre- Performance program, Circle in the Square Theatre School’s acting program, the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University and the Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop at Berklee College.
Andrew Boudreau is a celebrated pianist and composer with a long list of international accolades that include being named the 2019 winner of the Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. Among his other awards are an Astral Artist Prize at the National Arts Centre, and a Quebec OPUS Prize for Concert of the Year in Jazz and World Music. Andrew has performed in festivals across Canada, the US and Europe and has accompanied a variety of renowned artists such as soprano Measha Brueggergosman.
The performance will be directed by Margot Bégin who is thrilled to be back home living and working in Nova Scotia with its incredibly vibrant arts community.
The performance will take place at St Andrew’s United Church, 55 King Street, Truro, NS
Showtime is 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
