This December is Masimba’s 55th birthday. We’re planning on celebrating him the best way we know how: a day of top notch vibes with some of Masimba’s favourite selectors including: Turnstylez, P Plus, Mel Boogie, Jason Palma, Paul E Lopes, Dave Campbell, Ms.MoveOnUp, Gene King, O.S.U.M, Serious, DJ Ki, Uncle Funke, Fase, King Curtis, Agile Big Jacks, DJ Dalia, Alister Johnson, Nick Holder, Ron Johnson, Starting From SCRATCH.

15 + DJ’s, 2 floors, and 6 hours of music.

On December 14th, we’ll be taking over 254 Lansdowne: CONTXT (main floor) + BSMT 254 (downstairs). Expect Sims vibes of the highest order: Soul, Funk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, House, Disco, Boogie, Breaks and additional fire genres for your headtop from 3pm-9pm.

This is a FREE event.

In the spirit of the season (and Sims), we’ll also be accepting non-perishable food items for donation. Your kindness and generosity is appreciated.

*To mark the occasion, we’ll have limited SOS 55 Coolout tees for a pop. We know how much y’all loved the OG tees, we think you’ll dig new one we got cooking. More info soon.

You can pre-order tees by e-mailing celebratingsonofsoul@gmail.com with your name, contact, t-shirt size(s) or grab one in person. The only way to guarantee one in your size is via pre-order.

If you’re a local business who wants to support, consider being a sponsor and donating a gift for our raffle. All sale + raffle proceeds will go to covering venue + production costs. Any leftover cash will go to food bank dontation.

A crew will be on-site capturing footage for a documentary on Turnstylez, a legendary DJ collective that Masimba repped.
