Overview
Learn the art of public speaking in a supportive community setting with BIST and CHIRS!
Join BIST as we improve public speaking and leadership skills, share our stories and build community at our Speakers' Corner program – lead by CHIRS (Community Head Injury Resource Services)- Speakers’ Corner.
- Speakers Corner is a free weekly program that focuses on helping people develop communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.
- Individuals progress at their own pace and there is never any pressure to sign up for meeting roles or present speeches until the person is comfortable.
- Speakers Corner is a structured and collaborative program that focuses on creating a positive and non-judgmental environment for its members.
- Speakers Corner is a place to learn and a place to have fun!
This program will involve BIST staff / students and BIST Members. Everyone will take a role in making the program work, such as:
- Master of Ceremonies
- General Evaluator
- Grammarian
- Jokemaster
- Timer
- Quiz master
- Table Topics
- Speaker!
We will learn as we grow this program – including each role and what it involves.
