The ability to inspire, persuade, and connect through language remains one of the greatest human advantages. Public speaking is not a talent reserved for a few, it is a skill that can be taught and mastered. In this session, Dr. Jenn Chenkin explores the science behind persuasion, negotiation, and debate. Drawing on Aristotle’s rhetorical triangle of ethos, pathos, and logos, Dr. Chenkin demonstrates how confident communicators are built from a young age. With extensive experience mentoring students who have gone on to win national and international competitions, she shows why it is best to begin building these skills from a young age, preparing students to lead in school, in their future careers, and in society at large.
Takeaway: Families receive a curated set of Ethical Dilemma Prompts to spark meaningful debates at home.
Best for: Families with students in Grades 4–12
