Specialty Coffee: from your first brew to barista

By North York Central Library - Business Science Tech

Overview

Join Hong Dai, founder of Another Land Coffee & More, as she shares her entrepreneurial journey as a barista and café owner.

Every cup of coffee carries a story — of where it came from, who crafted it, and the hands that brought it to life. This workshop invites you to step into those stories — and into your own.

Join Hong for a heartfelt 90-minute experience designed especially for women who are dreaming, building, or rediscovering their path. Blending personal storytelling, open discussion, and a guided sensory coffee tasting, this workshop explores how passion, resilience, and community come together in the world of women’s entrepreneurship.

Drawing on Hong’s experience managing China’s first international coffee school in Xiamen, working closely with top specialty-coffee experts, and helping countless coffee lovers in both China and Canada find their path, this session offers inspiration grounded in real-life journeys.

Together, we will:
✨ Reflect on the strengths and challenges unique to women in entrepreneurship
✨ Explore Hong’s personal journey — from navigating cultural transitions to building a business rooted in heart and hospitality
✨ Participate in a guided coffee tasting designed to awaken your senses — smelling, tasting, and exploring coffees from different origins, processes and varieties.

✨ Create a supportive space for connection, conversation, and shared inspiration

This workshop is not just about coffee — it is about embracing your voice, honoring your story, and discovering new possibilities in unexpected places.
