Description
The Choir of Royal Holloway is considered one of the best University choirs in the UK. In a rare Vancouver appearance, respected Director of Music, Rupert Gough, will lead the elite group of choral scholars in a mixed programme of repertoire from over ten countries and five centuries. The choir has a special interest in contemporary music, especially from the Baltic regions. Choral works will be featured by Vytautus Miškinis (Lithuania), Ēriks Ešenvalds (Latvia), Arvo Pärt and Tõnu Kõrvits (Estonia) and works by Russian, Scandinavian, English, German, French, and North American composers.
The choir successfully toured Eastern Canada and several US states in 2016 and will now present their first Western North American tour in Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas during the second week of April, 2018. Vancouver choral lovers will not want to miss this rare opportunity to hear this high-profile choir in a glorious acoustic space.
