Supporting Teams Through Change

Overview

This 2-hour course takes place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. (PDT, Vancouver).

Organizational change is inevitable, but it’s the internal transition people experience during change that determines whether a change effort succeeds or stalls. When people feel supported through the change process, the change is more likely to be successful. However, when people feel unprepared or unheard, resistance naturally emerges.

This course will explore the difference between external change and internal transition, guided by William Bridges’s Transition Model. You will reflect on personal experiences with change, explore the difference between change and transition, and identify what you can do to support people through each stage of the transition process.

In this course, you will:

  • Differentiate between external change and internal transition.
  • Identify the emotional and behavioural markers of each phase of transition.
  • Recognize common sources of resistance and how to respond.
  • Apply targeted strategies to support staff through each phase of transition.

The event Zoom link will be distributed to registrants one day before the course start date.
