By Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science

Overview

Explore how online comments can cross the line into defamation and what legal protections exist in the digital world.

Jurist-in-Residence at Concordia University Morton S. Minc invites you to an in-person conversation with Allen Mendelsohn, a lawyer specializing in internet law.

The session looks at how defamation works when the comments live online, how reputations can be harmed in an instant and what the law considers fair comment or crossing the line.

Open to:

Students in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, law students and anyone interested in leadership, infrastructure, and public management.

To participating lawyers:

Since Concordia University is an organization distinct from the Bar of Quebec, you must declare your hours of training in your personal file. A certificate of attendance representing 1.5 hours of continuing education will be issued to lawyers who attend this conference.
