Sweet Traditions: A family Candy Making Experience

By Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum

Overview

Sweet memories made together—one treat at a time!

Gather your loved ones and step back in time for a sweet celebration of classic confections! In this hands-on workshop, families will whip up a trio of nostalgic treats — from fluffy olde-fashioned marshmallows and crunchy retro candy crispies to beautifully swirled white chocolate bark.

No baking experience needed—just bring your curiosity, creativity, and a love for sweets! Each family will take home a box of handmade candies and the joy of time well spent together.

You and your family will make:

Olde-Fashioned Marshmallows– light, fluffy, and irresistibly nostalgic, just like love should be.

Candy Crispies – A crunchy twist on a timeless favorite that’s as fun to make as it is to eat. (Please note that this contains peanuts and coconut)

White Chocolate Bark – Swirled, sprinkled, and sweet—create your own edible masterpiece with toppings galore.

This workshop is open to adults with children. Children must be five years old or older and have an adult with them. Create new family memories at this fun hands-on workshop.
