Taste of Trinidad: Caribbean Cooking Classes
Overview
Taste of Trinidad: A Three-Night Trinidadian Cooking Series
Join us for a hands-on, three-evening cooking series exploring the heart and soul of Trinidadian home cooking, led by Cecelia, founder of Cecelia’s Flavour Fusion. Over three nights, participants will learn to prepare classic Caribbean dishes rooted in tradition, flavour, and community.
Each class runs from 6:00–8:00 PM and builds on shared techniques, spices, and cultural context — making this a true series experience rather than standalone classes.
Class Dates & Menu
- January 7 – Pelau and sada roti
- January 14 – Pumpkin choka and baigan
- January 21 – Split pea soup
About the Instructor
Born in Trinidad and immigrating to Canada in 1996, Cecelia brings a lifetime of lived experience and culinary knowledge to the kitchen. Now based in Salmon Arm, she created Cecelia’s Flavour Fusion to share authentic Trinidadian cuisine with the Shuswap. She is also in the process of opening Ziggie’s Caribbean Mart, a future cultural and culinary hub dedicated to Caribbean food, products, and experiences.
