About this Event
Section 215.4 in Part 15 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code has requirements (legislated law) that specifically and strictly apply to professional engineers practicing in Alberta as it relates to the isolation of pipes and piping - "Inadequate isolations when dismantling can put people, the environment, and business interests at risk".
At the conclusion of this presentation attendees will:
- Understand the technical meaning and the requirements of Section 215.4;
- Learn what to do to comply with the requirements of Section 215.4;
- Learn about good design practices and good maintenance/operations practices that meet the legal requirements for Alberta.
- Improve our facilities by understanding DBB/DIB requirements in order to operate safely.
Speaker Bio
Gobind Khiani, M.Eng., P.Eng. has served in engineering management roles for both operating and EPC companies. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pune, in India and a Master of Engineering from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.
He is a past chairman of Calgary Branch Executive Committee at the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, currently he serves as Vice Chairman of International Standards Organization representing Canada.
