After an extraordinary 2025, marked by the release of a new album, several major award including a nomination for Best Album in Quebec, and a first European tour, Carl Mayotte and his quintet are back at The Bassment this spring to deliver what promises to be an electrifying and captivating performance. Carl Mayotte has a well-earned reputation for being one of most prominent bassists, composers, and band leaders in Quebec. Since turning pro at age 16, he has completed a master's degree in jazz performance at McGill University, recorded four critically acclaimed albums, and gained the respect of many veteran musicians, including the legendary bassist Alain Caron. Featuring some of the best young musician in Quebec, the group will perform selections from Carl's first three albums as well as tunes from the recently recorded tribute to Brazilian music, Carnaval. And just so you know, this group has developed a loyal and enthusiastic following in Saskatoon—so get your tickets early!
