The Future of Health Innovation conference presented by the University of Toronto will highlight and showcase health and life sciences innovation from the University Toronto and the Toronto community including those from our affiliated hospital partners.
The day will consist of:
Theme 1:
Health Technologies – Wearables and Robotics
This segment will showcase new and exciting wearable and robotic technologies from the Toronto ecosystem. Engaging groups such as Toronto Rehab Institute, Institute for Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering and the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering to discuss the future of robotics in health and the areas in which we are translating research here in Toronto and in partnership with our local Toronto companies.
Theme 2:
Advancement of cell-based therapies and tissue-based technologies.
An introduction of the advancement of microfluidics at UofT and organ-on-a chip related technologies. Highlighting UofT partnerships and top researchers in this field. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the commercialization of cell therapy and tissue-based technologies and treatments with industry experts, venture capital and pharmaceutical companies in this field.
Technology/Start-up Showcase
The technology and start-up showcase will highlight the most innovative health and life sciences companies coming out of the Toronto ecosystem.
