The Marauders: live jazz + cocktails
Overview
The Marauders are a highly curated, BIPOC-focused collective to change the landscape of Toronto's jazz community from the outside. Performing compositions from and influenced directly by the hard bop era, innovation is celebrated.
The hard bop era gave us luminaries like Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Clifford Brown, Cedar Walton, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, Dexter Gordon, Charles Mingus, Sonny Rollins, and Horace Silver — and The Marauders honor this lineage while pushing it forward.
Poetry Jazz Cafe was established as a live music & poetry venue in 2010, featuring THE NEXT GENERATION of Jazz, Blues, Soul, Rock & Poetry artists in the city. With a bespoke cocktail menu and twists on some classics, Poetry Jazz Cafe is an experience.
