Description

The Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) is proud to present the 10th Annual DLSPH Student-Led Conference: The Next150: Resisting Colonialism and (Re)claiming Health on Turtle Island.

This two-day event will be jam-packed with workshops, speakers, and community activities, giving attendees the space to critically examine the impacts of colonization on the wellbeing of Indigenous peoples, and honor the continued resistance of communities leading to the reclamation of health, land and self-determination.

The Next150 will feature keynote sessions from Dr. Suzanne Stewart and Dr. Janet Smylie, an option to participate in a land based learning session at the Mashkikii;aki’ing Medicine Wheel Garden, community organizations like the Anishnawbe Health Toronto facilitating workshops on harmonized western and Indigenous models of care, and so much more!

Join us in highlighting the work of critical academics and students, community acts of resistance, and centering land in (re)claiming health and healing.

Visit our website for up-to-date conference details! http://www.dlsph.utoronto.ca/students/current-students/the-next150/
