Threads of Winter: A Fairytale Ball & Sustainable Runway Showcase
Overview
TAP is thrilled to present its first-ever Winter Ball and second runway showcase, an immersive evening where sustainable fashion meets fairytale magic. This formal celebration brings together designers, artists, and guests for a night that highlights creativity, environmental consciousness, and the beauty of community.
Throughout the evening, guests will experience a blend of interactive art, stunning upcycled fashion pieces, and winter enchantment woven throughout the venue. Our runway presentation will spotlight sustainable designs crafted from repurposed and reimagined materials, with silhouettes and embellishment styles inspired by South Asian garments.
Along the way, enjoy styled photo booth moments, door prizes, and plenty of opportunities to show off your winter ball gown, whether you are gliding across the dance floor or posing beneath swirling lights of fire and frost. The celebration continues with an open dance floor, giving guests a chance to connect, move, and revel in the night's magic.
Best of all, this event is entirely free to attend, welcoming everyone into a space where imagination, sustainability, and artistry come alive.
With this night, we hope to weave sustainable fashion back into the fabric of Calgary’s arts scene, where it can shine, inspire, and ignite new dreams.
Thank you to our partners and funders for making this event possible: Oceanwise, Canada Service Corps, Volunteer Alberta, ACSEL program, Experience Ventures Program, and the University of Calgary.
