Canada Lands Company and Public Services and Procurement Canada Virtual Workshop to Discuss the Future of Tunney’s Pasture
About this event
Summary: Canada Lands Company and Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) are inviting members of the public to take part in a virtual workshop to discuss the future of Tunney’s Pasture
Main Description: On May 25 and May 26, 2022, Canada Lands Company and PSPC will be inviting members of the public to take part in identical virtual workshops to discuss the transformation of Tunney’s Pasture from a single-use employment centre into a vibrant transit-oriented and sustainable mixed-use community that is integrated with surrounding neighbourhoods.
PSPC and Canada Lands Company are collaborating to develop the long-term plan that will guide the implementation of the approved 2014 Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan.

At these identical virtual workshops, participants will be asked to help Canada Lands and PSPC develop a set of community values that reflect the community’s vision for this site, and current views on things such as climate change, housing, and community building in a post-pandemic Ottawa. These will complement the Guiding Principles already included in the Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan.
Note 1: Two identical bilingual virtual workshops are planned for May 25 (6:00 to 8:30 pm) and May 26 (1:00 to 3:30 pm). This link will register you for the May 25 workshop.
Note 2: The workshop will start with a presentation that will be delivered in English. A live interpreter will translate to French, and all materials will be bilingual. Small group discussions will be held in both French and English. We also invite questions in the language of your choice (FRA and ENG).
Background or Additional Information: The Tunney’s Pasture site (121 acres/49 hectares) is bounded by the National Capital Commission (NCC) parkway and Ottawa River to the north, Parkdale Avenue to the east, Scott Street and Light Rail Transit to the south and the Champlain Park community to the west. There are 17 buildings on the federal government employment campus, serving various departments including Health Canada and Statistics Canada.
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is responsible for the strategic management of Tunney’s Pasture, and is collaborating with Canada Lands Company (Canada Lands) to realize the site’s transformation as envisioned in the Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan.

Canada Lands transforms former Government of Canada properties and reintegrates them into local communities while ensuring their long-term sustainability and commercial viability.
