Vancouver Velocity Speed Skating Club: Sept 2025 - Mar 2026 Drop-In Signup

This page allows signups for drop-ins with the Vancouver Velocity Speed Skating Club.

Must haves

All drop-ins MUST meet the following criteria:

1. You must already be registered with a speed skating club in Canada that insures you while on the ice (all SSBC clubs fit this criteria - email info@vancouverspeedskating.com if you are unsure)
2. You must have your own speed skates and the appropriate speed skating safety equipment (see the VSSC Equipment page for key safety items needed)

If you DO NOT meet this criteria, your ticket will be cancelled.

How to sign up / what days & times are available

Choose the session you are interested in and buy tickets to sign up. Please be aware that the timeslot shown is for the WHOLE practice and you will NOT be on ice the entire time - exact timeslots for the skater levels are below. The full practice schedule is on our website but highlights are below:

Wednesdays: dryland + ice time at Kitsilano Rink, 2690 Larch St

• 4:30pm: Beginner practice
• 4:55pm: Intermediate + Advanced+ Masters practice

Saturdays: dryland + ice time at Kitsilano Rink, 2690 Larch St

• 6am: Ice time begins

Sundays: dryland + ice time at Kitsilano Rink, 2690 Larch St

• 5:30pm: Beginner practice
• 6:30pm: Intermediate + Special Olympics practice
• 7:45pm: Advanced/Masters practice

Skater level descriptions

Beginner - age 13 and under, 400m time is OVER 55 seconds.

Intermediate - age 9-13, 400m time is UNDER 55 seconds

Advanced - age 14-18, skating on the 111m track

Masters - age 19+ with basic skating ability, skating on the 111m track

Available spots, waitlists, and more

Each date has a number of tickets available for drop-in spots at each session. Once the tickets are sold out, there are no more drop-in spots available for that date. Ticket sales for each date close 1 min before the end of the event.

You can add your name to the waitlist if your desired date is not available. If another person withdraws from their drop-in spot, you may be sent an email to register for the open spot. You will need to register within 2h to claim your spot or we will move to the next person on the waitlist.

Refund

Refunds are available if you cancel 1 full day in advance, otherwise there is no refund possible. However if the event is cancelled, refunds will be provided less the Eventbrite ticketing fee.

Arrival at dryland/the rink

Please show your drop-in ticket to a board member or coach at the practice. We will sign you in and introduce you to any club protocols.
