VEGA Workshop: Trauma- and Violence-Informed Health Research
Overview
Build the confidence and practical skills needed to design and conduct research with children and youth (7 to 29 years old) in ways that are grounded in trauma- and violence-informed principles.
This live, virtual workshop helps you move towards a research approach that:
- Reduces the risk of harm during research encounters,
- Strengthens trust, comfort, and relational safety for participants,
- Integrates trauma- and violence-informed practices into protocols, data collection, and analysis, and
- Support research staff in navigating sensitive topics and emotions that can arise in the research experience.
Developed using the pan‑Canadian, evidence-based guidance of the VEGA (Violence, Evidence, Guidance, Action) Project—which was funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and created with 22 national health and social service organizations—this workshop provides credible, nationally recognized expertise you can bring directly into your research practice.
