About This Event
Join us for an informative Public Legal Education (PLE) Connections session with the Voice of Albertans with Disabilities (VAD).
This session brings together two short presentations:
Part One – About VAD
Learn about the organization’s mission, vision, and ongoing work to support full inclusion and accessibility for Albertans with disabilities. Discover how VAD provides advocacy, outreach, and resources that help reduce barriers and empower individuals across Alberta.
Part Two – AISH Benefits: Navigating the Application Process
Presentation offers a clear overview of the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program, covering eligibility, the application process, and appeal requirements. Presenters guide participants through the information found in the AISH guidebook, explain the purpose of the benefit, outline expectations for both clients and the program, and provide practical support by reviewing an actual AISH form to help applicants understand how to complete it.
