This workshop is for YOU if…
- You’ve never photographed a wedding before and you’re scared to death - I’ve got you covered. You’ll go from zero to 100 like a Leica on speed. This is the course I wish I had when I was starting out.
- You’ve shot lots of weddings and want to take your work to the next level - Even if you are a seasoned pro, you are GUARANTEED to gain new skills and techniques to change the way you shoot forever!
You’ll learn…
- Wedding day itineraries for multiple cultures
- How to handle any light, weather, or situation
- Using flash and video lights when natural light isn’t enough
- Directing people who are not models
- Avoiding common technical mistakes
- Creative in-camera techniques
- Bonus… business and client experience basics (this is not a business workshop, but we will touch on a few key ideas that matter on a wedding day and long after it ends).
Prerequisites
You must already be comfortable using your camera to take photos. It’s fine if you normally shoot in aperture or shutter priority. I’ll help make manual shooting simple, but there won’t be time to teach camera basics. You must know how to operate your own camera system, including where your buttons and menu items are located.
You will not learn
- Photoshop or Lightroom
- How to run or market a photography business in depth
- Working with models (we will not have a styled shoot, but you will have a chance to practice)
This workshop is a good fit if…
- You learn best by doing, not by listening to lectures
- You want to feel calm and confident on wedding days
- You want to handle bad light, bad weather, and chaos without panic
- You want stronger photojournalism and visual storytelling skills
- You want practical skills you can use immediately
- You want to meet other photographers and have some fun
This workshop is not a fit if…
- You are looking for a photography 101 course
- You are not comfortable using your camera
- You are looking for a styled shoot or portfolio content
- You do not want hands-on practice
- You do not feel comfortable meeting other photographers or having fun
