When Joy Feels Far Away: Navigating Grief and Holiday Expectations
Overview
🌿 It’s easy to think of the holidays as a time for togetherness. That’s what we’ve been told, or have always seen, from a young age. But all the pressure to participate, or the expectation to be present and "over" our grief, can make this season feel endless. However, the holidays are woven into our grief journey, something to be felt rather than fixed.
🌟 This presentation aims to explore the many layers of loss and grief, particularly as they surface during the holidays, with attention to cultural and societal considerations. The session also covers strategies for coping and taking care along with how counselling techniques can support that journey.
All of our presentations are live and recorded to share with those who value and are curious about learning various mental health related topics.
