Where Data Meets Action: Riparian Web Portal 102

By North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance
Online event

Overview

In the RWP 102 workshop, you’ll learn to navigate the Riparian Web Portal and be trained to add your projects to the site.

This training is for those who have completed the Riparian 101 training already and are part of an organization that does riparian restoration work and therefore will be uploading project data. Organizations include eNGOs, municipalities, agricultural societies and universities.

The Riparian Web Portal (www.riparian.info) is an award-winning website, launched in 2021 by Alberta’s watershed community and led by the NSWA. This dynamic online space empowers Albertans to enhance riparian health through interactive access to comprehensive data and resources. Riparian restoration, enhancement and educational projects are showcased, inspiring a ripple effect for environmental stewardship and a roadmap for how to get started.

  • Does your organization have riparian restoration, enhancement or education projects that could be showcased on the portal?
  • Would you like to learn about other projects on the ground and gain the tools to add a project to the portal yourself?

Workshop topics will include:

-A short introduction to the project and data collection,

-How to view the web portal as a member of the public,

-How to view and use the web portal data with log-in access, and

-How to add your own riparian projects (step by step)

Register at least 48 hours in advance to receive your personal Riparian Web Portal login information.

To obtain your Riparian 101 training you can attend the session on January 13, 2026 from 10:00AM- Noon, or you can watch the recording of the Riparian Web Portal 101 training session prior to joining the 102 session Accessible here.
