Overview

September 25, 2026 - September 27, 2026

Learn how to transform blocks of wood into beautiful, hand‐turned works‐of‐art. Using a lathe and traditional hand tools, you will be introduced to the two basic forms of woodturning (spindle and bowl turning). Topics will include safety, operation of a lathe, mounting the wood, proper sharpening and use of tools, and finishing of the turned object. Through technique demonstrations and hands‐on practice, learn to utilize the lathe to create decorative and/or functional turnings – and create your own unique turned wooden treasures. Each participant will have the opportunity to turn a top, bud vase, pen, and bowl during the workshop.
