Working Smarter with AI: Sustainable Productivity Workflows
Overview
Working Smarter with AI: Sustainable Productivity Workflows for Educators and Mentors
Many educators are overwhelmed by workload and administrative tasks, curious about AI but unsure where to start, and worried about ethical use and academic integrity. They are often exposed either to very high-level sessions that explain what AI is, or to tool-focused sessions that do not connect to their actual routines. What is missing is support in building sustainable, ethical, and realistic AI-assisted workflows that genuinely save time, reduce cognitive load, and respect board guidelines and professional standards. Throughout this event, Jason will intentionally weave in AI literacy, ethics, privacy, and equity so that participants learn to use AI both productively and responsibly.
Educators will be guided in designing their own repeatable AI-assisted workflows that matches their role, board policies, and comfort level. This session will illustrate how to use AI to streamline everyday tasks such as lesson and unit planning, differentiating resources, drafting communication and organizing ideas while still keeping teacher voice, judgment, and relationships at the centre.
In this session, Jason will model how to critically review AI output, discuss what should and should not be delegated to AI, and emphasize that AI should support, not replace, professional judgment and relationships.
This session will also include a short demonstration of a real workflow, time for participants to try activities with their own curriculum or context, and a chance for them to leave with one small, realistic workflow they can test in their own practice. By the end of this session, participants will leave with concrete strategies, language they can use with students and families about ethical AI use, and at least one workflow they can immediately try in their practice.
