WorkSpace Safety: Intro to Power Tools
Overview
In this WorkSpace Safety course, you will receive training on the safe usage of the following tools: band saw, table saw, mitre saw, drill press, drill, and belt and disc sander. You will have ample time to try out each tool, with the result being the creation of your very own bird nesting box.
This course is required for anyone who wants to use the above listed tools in our WorkSpace.
Every workshop attendee gets one free day access pass to our WorkSpace. Your pass needs to be used within one month of this workshop.
Please dress appropriately for working in a woodshop: closed-toe shoes, hair tied in the back, and no loose clothing. It's important to be on time for this workshop as this is a safety course and all information is important. Late arrivals may not be able to join.
For more information on our WorkSpace and when you can use it to work on your projects, check out our webpage.
NOTES:
a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.
b) Member-rate tickets are reserved for current Ottawa Tool Library members. If a non-member registers at the member rate, we will follow up to collect the price difference plus a $15 administrative fee.
c) If you are registering for a young person, please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the same workshop. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in many of our workshops (other than Tinkering School and some demo nights).
