What is One District?
The idea behind One District came when debating a new title for our networking series. Many names were tossed around, but we wanted one that properly represented our district of town. A whole afternoon of discussions led to the idea of Toronto really being one district, united in so many things. One District is the title of the community event organization powered by Social Markt. One District holds monthly events to help young professionals connect and make meaningful relationships.
What Is Open Networking?
Open Networking is an opportunity for people from all fields to come together to talk, innovate, and make connections they might never find on their own. Sure business cards are important, but it's having open conversations with a person that's going to solidify those meaningful connections. So, grab some business cards, sip a beer, and get ready to meet a world of interesting individuals.

Should You Attend?
Of course! One District’s Young Professionals Networking sessions are all about open networking. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do - if you are interested in connecting with others, this is where you should be. Although we are open to all age groups, there is some pretty distinct age limitations at some of the venues we work at. For the most part, our events are 19+ simply because they are hosted at a bar or club.
A Dress Code?
The question on everyone's mind! Being mindful that you might be meeting a future boss, supervisor or coworker - not that this is the main event, but first impressions last a long time. Be comfortable, but not slobish. Tasteful, but not up-tight. Essentially, be the version of yourself that you’d like everyone else at the event to meet.
