Your Brain on Puzzles: How puzzle thinking can unlock big thinking and how we live!
You’ve done a Wordle today. Maybe a crossword. Maybe you got irrationally confident after solving one riddle.
That’s puzzle thinking — and it turns out, it’s doing way more to your brain than you think.
Puzzles secretly train us to sit with confusion, spot patterns, think sideways, and chase that sweet, sweet aha! moment. The same mental skills we need to solve real-life problems… just with fewer pieces and slightly less swearing.
In this talk, Dr. Stacy Costa will unpack why humans are obsessed with puzzles, what’s actually happening in your brain when things finally “click,” and how puzzle thinking spills into creativity, decision-making, and how we navigate everyday life.
An evening about curiosity, creativity, and what puzzles quietly teach us about how we think.
Themes: puzzles · psychology · creativity · problem-solving · curiosity · play
