YOUTH employABILITY PROGRAM - CLUB ACTIVITY LEADER
LOOKING FOR A FUN REWARDING JOB WORKING WITH KIDS?
Our 8-week FREE government funded employment program is designed to help youth aged 19 to 30 develop the skills and receive the necessary training to work as a Club Activity Leader in one of our BGC Clubs.
Participants are PAID an hourly wage during the 4-weeks of workshops/training as well as up to 4-weeks of work experience.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
- We provide up to 4 weeks of workshops and training, followed by up to 4 weeks of paid work and hands-on training as a Club Activity Leader
- Super fun workplace full of laughter, excitement and enthusiasm
- Short commute as we have 11 local Clubs in North Vancouver, South Vancouver, East Vancouver, Mt. Pleasant, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, North Delta, City of Langley, Tsawwassen and Ladner
- Funding for transit costs and interview clothing
- Paid certificate training like First Aid, WHMIS, Superhost, etc.
- Build skills and get a chance to secure ongoing employment with the opportunity for advancement
- $$$ Completion bonus available $$$
ABOUT YOU (ARE YOU ELIGIBLE)?
- 19 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee status
- Ability to pass a criminal record with vulnerable sector check
- Eager to gain new skills, acquire work experience and land a permanent job
- Interested in working with kids of various ages
- Prepared to plan a variety of indoor and outdoor activities
- Punctual and reliable
- Willing and able to complete 20 hours of online training required for the work experience placement
- Work experience placement as an Activity Leader at a BGC Club will likely be from 2pm to 6pm Monday through Wednesday and 2pm to 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays
- Live in the Great Vancouver Regional District, preferably close to or within a reasonable commute of North Vancouver, South Vancouver, East Vancouver, Mt. Pleasant, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, North Delta, City of Langley, Tsawwassen and Ladner
- The Youth employABILITY Program is NOT suited to youth taking a break from school and who will be returning back to school full-time upon completion of the program.
- Please note that participants will need to attend some in-person workshops and one-to-one appointments at our North Delta location (11861 88th Avenue, Delta) if they live within a reasonable commute to our offices.
