About this event

  • Event lasts 4 days 1 hour

    This event is designed to help preteens cultivate a positive relationship with their bodies and sport, understand basic anatomy, learn about nutrition, explore hormonal changes, and foster teamwork and empathy.

    Format: In this 1 hour block, we will spend 30 minutes working out and 30 minutes on an educational topic with content relevant to the age group. See below for our weekly calendar.

    Day 1: Self Appreciation

    • Focus on loving our bodies for what they enable us to do
    • Movement session
    • Discussion on the importance of sleep and limiting screen time

    Day 2: Understanding Basic Anatomy

    • Learn about large muscle groups and their functions
    • Movement session

    Day 3: Nutrition Essentials

    • Explore macronutrients, their roles, and where to find them in your diet
    • Movement session

    Day 4: Hormones and Body Awareness

    • Understand changing hormones, what to expect, and what's normal
    • Discussion on period products and body awareness
    • Movement session

    Day 5: Team Morale and Recap

    • Emphasize treating others with kindness and respect
    • Recap major take-home messages from the week
    • Movement session

    Time: 10am - 11am

    For Ages: 10 - 13

    We have capcity for 8 girls if we sell out we will add additional weeks. We also have sponsorship opportunities for funding, if required please email lisa@bestrongtraining.ca.

    Cost: $129+gst/ person for the 5 day program
