Film Event as part of the 6th Annual Harm Reduction Symposium- Lost Time.
“How did it get so late so soon?” Dr. Suess
We knew it was coming -- all of it, the drug crisis, the housing crisis, the mental health crisis; successive governments chose not to act. Now with 22 Canadians dying from an overdose everyday many of them homeless and untreated, people losing limbs from sleeping in tents, untreated mental health at an alarming rate, time has run out. We Lost Time by not acting and people are paying the ultimate price.
As part of the 6th annual Harm Reduction Symposium, we are offering an opportunity for the wider community to join us for a free filming of “Love in the Time of Fentanyl”.
After the movie we will hear from a panel of local people from in local government, service providers and people who have lived experience. We will encourage the audience to join in the discussion.
This film is intended to introduce a human understanding of this crisis. We encourage anyone to attend. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and learn together- no prior understanding of these issues is needed!
This film "Love in the Time of Fentanyl" will provide an opportunity to look at things from different sides of the coin. We all need to be in this together.
Light refreshments of popcorn and beverages will be provided. Bring your friends, family and an open heart.
