About this event

  • 6 hours 30 minutes

Join the Nashwaak Watershed Association to find out more about dead wood and woodlots. We'll discuss climate change and wind events, fire hazards, and the benefits that dead wood provides as habitat. Guest speakers include Anne MacKnight (YSC Marketing Board), Roger Collet (DNR Firesmart Program), and Mark Pulsifer (Nova Scotia wildlife biologist). The morning will include presentations and discussion at the Community Room of the Unity Centre (formerly the Ville). After lunch (bring your own), we will carpool to a nearby woodlot for further discussion and a walk in the woods. This workshop is generously funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada, through the Wolastoq Priority Place Program for species at risk.
