About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Take a stroll through Ashburnham with historian Don Willcock and learn about the people, events and structures tied to this historic neighbourhood. You will pass by the sites of past and present industries like the Ontario Canoe Company, Calcutt's Brewery and Quaker Oats that served as iconic landmarks and major employers for the residents who called Ashburnham home. You'll also visit other significant buildings in the area like schools, churches, and the houses of prominent individuals who chose to establish themselves in this tight-knit community over the years.

This is a walking tour in Ashburnham that includes climbing some hills, and may not be accessible to everyone. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, as the tour will run rain or shine.
