ACT Level 1: Six Steps to Psychological Flexibility
This two day workshop (February 2nd, 2017 8:30AM - 5:00PM; February 3rd, 2017 8:30AM - 5:00PM) is led by two of the most dynamic and interesting Acceptance and Commitment Therapy trainers from the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science: Dr. Benjamin Schoendorff and Marie-France Bolduc of Montreal. Professionals attending this workshop will experience two days of experiential and didactic instruction on the delivery of focused ACT using the matrix and the therapeutic relationship.
This workshop will present a six step approach to doing ACT with the matrix that has proven highly effective in clinical practice and that has been shown to be more effective than traditional ACT in a series of pilot studies for treating borderline personality disorder.
The six steps are a simple framework that can be used with the broadest populations, individually as well as with groups.
The workshop is based on the upcoming book The Essential Guide to the ACT Matrix (New Harbinger, in Press). The power of these six simple steps will help you full realize the potential of your ACT practice and has the potential to better help even your most stuck clients.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to present and use ACT in a simple, direct and effective way that you’ll be able to share with your clients and adapt to your clinical practice. The result is often a profound change in the way you do your clinical work; this change has the potential to increase your ability to help your clients and yourself choose to move toward who and what is important even in the presence of painful obstacles.
Each session contains small group experiential exercises.
