Orchard of Pomegranates Soirée is proud to host Catharine Cary for her album launch concert, June 23rd, 2024 at Café La ligne verte, 7-9pm in Montréal.

The evening will consist of Catharine's performance of her original whimsical childrens' stories, accompanied by live improvised music, performed by two remarkable musicians who also performed with her on the album! Eric Lewis on Cornet, Bass Clarinet and Toys and Ivan Bamford on Drums and Toys.

We will also enjoy a guest performance by poet Lea Rackley.

“I suppose I could make an AIR CAKE… for the layers of the cake I could use clouds which are lots of air and just a little bit of water.”

"Ayelet, I wanted to thank you personally for arranging the Intensive, and running it in such a wholehearted and insightful manner. You absolutely managed to create a safe and generative space for students to grow, each from their own backgrounds. As a musician, you combine what seems to be a flawless technique with great musicality and courage to create in the moment."

“The communal spirit of Ayelet Rose Gottlieb’s 13 Lunar Meditations: Summoning The Witches feels like a gift.” said Downbeat magazine about Jerusalem-born, Montreal based Gottlieb’s most recent vinyl release. Gottlieb is a musician, multidisciplinary visionary and a mother with over 20 years of experience as a performing and recording artist. She has collaborated with some of the greatest creative musicians of our times, including composer John Zorn, contemporary string quartet ETHEL and vocalist Bobby McFerrin. Ayelet takes her experience as an artist to enrich, support and grow the artistry of other creatives, helping them to shape their “voice”. She holds this space via Orchard of Pomegranates (founded in 2018.) Orchard is a practice space for vocalists, improvisers and deep listeners. Through the Orchard's Patreon, this community has access to one-on-one sessions with Ayelet, evocative online and in-person workshops touching upon voice-work, movement, improvisation, composition, creative writing, activism through art and music making, as well as an ongoing DreamWeave and Sensory Sonic meditations inspired by the Deep Listening practices of feminist composer Pauline Oliveros.
