    Haliburton County boasts a rich apple tree heritage dating back over 100 years, as documented in a 1890s Horticulturalist Journal description of the "Haliburton Apple". Despite the harsh northern climate, these apples thrive with minimal care, presenting an unique opportunity for futher study.
