About this event

  • 3 hours

Join us on Friday June 28, 2024 at Cinderbloc Studios for an enriching cultural experience as we delve into the diverse culinary heritage of the People of African Descent (PAD) community in Southern Vancouver Island. The Journey of FuFu is part one of our series of conversations about the cultural diversity, richness & resilience within the PAD community.

Please come prepared to have all of your senses engaged during a night of delicious food tasting, great music and thought provoking conversations regarding the evolution of fufu throughout the past five hundred years from its origins in West Africa to Cuba and beyond. This will include the considerations and challenges faced by PAD as we seek to access culturally relevant foods in the African Diaspora and on unceded lands.

Tickets are by donation at the door.

Limited tickets available, so please RSVP early.
